Né en pays gascon entre Cathares et D’Artagnan, il a accompagné, enfant, un père photographe amateur très doué et amoureux des Pyrénées.
A chaque sortie le Kodak à soufflet fait partie de ses bagages et Michel commence à apprendre la photo familiale en finissant souvent le film resté dans l'appareil.
A 15 ans il reçoit en cadeau de Noël un Focaflex. Il grille de nombreux films et comprend vite  la dure loi du viseur.
Après des débuts sur les paysages et les portraits, il passe, vers les années 72, au reportage et à la mode et ne s’arrêtera plus, la rencontre avec Jean Loup Sieff  fût déterminante dans sa photographie noir et blanc. Il participe à de nombreux ateliers et stages qui lui permettent de rencontrer les grands de la photographie : Claude Raymond, Dityvon, Willy Ronis, Jean-François Jonvelle, Jean Dieuzaide, Guy Le Querrec, Lucien Clergue…..
En 2000 il contribue à la création d’Artkaos un site d’artistes européens. Depuis 2008 il expose régulièrement à Arles pendant les Rencontres du mois de juillet.
Il crée le « Collectif Reg-Art » en 2009 avec lequel il expose. En 2016 il rejoint « Echiquier » un collectif international comprenant une trentaine de pays.
En considérant l’ensemble de son oeuvre, l’on constate que sa démarche l’a toujours conduit hors des sentiers battus de la photographie. En portant un autre regard sur les choses et les gens, encourageant ainsi un autre regard du spectateur, il recrée la réalité par nécessité profonde et espère, avec l’image aboutie, faire partager ses émotions.
C’est un travail qui ne se veut pas esthétique et que l’on peut résumer par une phrase
du peintre Balthus :
”Le réel n’est pas ce que vous croyez voir. On peut être réaliste de l’irréel et figuratif
de l’invisible”.

Welcome
I was born in a small village in the Pyrénées mountains where I had a very happy childhood marred by my father's death when I was 18.
My father was a great fan of mountainneering, cars and motorbikes and he always had a camera with him.
I enjoyed completing the films left in the camera ( a Kodak with bellows) and started with the usual family and landscapes pictures.
I have never stopped ever since. From photo-club to large structures, from simple member to chairman,
I have been (and still am) exploring everything about photography structures as well as categories.
I started with snapshots in the streets and on car racing tracks, the human aspect being always present in my pictures.
I am a versatile photographer : whether I am doing a photo report, a studio sitting, a landscape or a macro photo,
it's always th same indescribable pleasure.For a few years I have taken to research photography with passion.
Imagination, reality and fiction are now my research themes. Photography is neither a job or a hobby but a way of living and og expression,
which I perform seriously but wihout taking myself seriously.
